I’ve had a place at Starlite going on 13 years. It’s definitely my magical “Happy Place.” In the beginning, I worked a lot so it gave me a place to socialize on the weekends before returning to reality. It’s a safe place to be yourself, party like a rock star, or just relax and reflect. I feel loved by my Starlite family and friends have become family.

My wife and I love living at Starlite! We knew it was home the first time we visited. The sense of community is incredible and everyone looks out for each other. I was attracted to the community right away when I camped in October 2022. It’s beautiful, clean, and everyone is super friendly. Folks introduced themselves as they walked by my campsite. After I leased an RV site and became an official member, people started DMing me from the private Facebook group. I made a bunch of new friends and felt so welcomed! Starlite is magical and I absolutely love it!

It's easy to fall in love with beautiful mountains, a flowing river, and the stars reflecting in the lake, but Starlite’s greatest asset is its community of members and visitors. It has always been about the people for me! Over the past 12 years, I have made many lifetime friendships. The confluence of diverse members creates a community I have not found elsewhere in my travels. People are always willing to help, share a story, talk about their journey, and add depth to the Starlite experience. If the lodge, firepits, and pool could talk, they would all have stories and secrets to share! I’m hoping these established traditions continue for many others well into the future.

My husband and I started visiting Starlite in 2017, and we immediately fell in love with the grounds and members. We live in the country in Monroe, a small town in Union County, where there wasn’t a lot of LGBTQ+ (at least not openly) at the time. We purchased a park model in 2019 to have a community of like-minded friends. We are eternally grateful for the relationships we have built since then and the wonderful memories we have made! Starlite truly is our happy place!

Starlite is like no other place on Earth. The people, sense of community, and natural beauty keep me coming back month after month, year after year. My girlfriend and I visited Starlite for a long weekend and were immediately invited to hang out with people at the lodge. The accepting community made purchasing a home an easy decision, and we’ve made wonderful friends over the past two years.
